Under Lang's leadership, AIC Hockey has experienced unprecedented success. The team has won four consecutive AHA Regular Season Titles (2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22) and three AHA Tournaments (2019, 2021, 2022; 2020 was not held due to the COVID-19 Pandemic) and reached the NCAA Tournament in each of those three seasons. The team has been nationally ranked at the conclusion of each of the most recent four seasons. He coached the program's first two Division I All-American selections in Blake Christensen '20 and Brennan Kapcheck '21 and led AIC in 2019 to an upset of then-No. 1 St. Cloud State University in the NCAA Tournament, the first time a 16-seed making its NCAA
While at Army, Lang was responsible for handling the power-play unit, which ranked fourth in Atlantic Hockey during the 2015-16 season, as well as coordinating video analysis of games and working with student-athletes in on- and off-ice drills.
Lang also served as a key factor in recruiting efforts during his time with the Cadets which saw Army West Point move from a last place finish in 2013-14 (6-28) to a berth in the Atlantic Hockey Championship Weekend in 2015-16 after a 15-15-9 finish. Led by a strong sophomore class, Lang recruited 2014-15 Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie team member Tyler Pham as well as the leading scorer for the Black Knights in 2015-16, Conor Andrle (13-20-33).
Much of Lang’s success at West Point can be attributed to his time with the Yellow Jackets both as a player and graduate assistant coach. Lang skated in 80 games for AIC over his four years in the mid-90s, serving as a two-year captain while being honored with the ECAC Merit Medal and the College’s Henry Butova Leadership Award. He scored 25 goals and added 34 assists for 59 points from 1994-1998.
Lang graduated from AIC in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology before going on to earn his Master of Arts in Organizational Development in 2008. He has also worked for the National Hockey League as an off-ice official, assisting with in-game scoring and analysis in addition to coaching for four years at Byram Hills High School during his 20 plus years of hockey experience.
Joel is coming off back to back finals appearances in the FED Championship game. Joel led this group to an EHF Upper Gold Championship two seasons ago. Joel's passion and commitment to his players and parents is what lead to the impressive run that his team went on last year during the playoffs.
Joel has coached at various levels throughout his coaching career with his most recent stint being with the Springfield Rifles Organization. Joel brings with him a huge passion for the game along with years of coaching and playing. He is someone that prides himself on being a players coach that balances both hard work and fun in all that does with his teams. Joel grew up playing hockey in Enfield and has a large family following of hockey players. We are lucky to have Joel and his passion for coaching and teaching in our organization. We look forward this team having a great year under his direction.
We look forward to see if Joel and his players can repeat from last season!
Joey enters his 3rd season as the 2012 Elite Coach. A native of Montreal, QC, Joey played his college hockey at Colgate University. He went on to play a 671 career professional games in both the NHL and the AHL. Joey started his coaching career as an assistant coach at NCAA Division 1 Mercyhurst. Keith is in his second season with the 2014 team this year. Keith grew up playing Junior Hockey in this very organization under Gary Dineen in 1999 where they won an EJHL championship. He then went on to play 4 years of college hockey at Westfield State.
Keith loves the game and is around it daily, as he and his partner Dan, own and operate DK's. Keith has helped develop our young players and build our mite program from within, helping coach the MDP the past 3 seasons. Keith has strong ties to the organization and will be instrumental in the growth of our 2014s. We are extremely excited to see where Keith takes this 2014 team.
Paul Dowe will be in his third year with the Program. This year he will be leading our 2015 ELITE Team as well as our U12 Girls Team. He has worked hard at developing our younger kids and is dedicated to ensuring they have a great experience and learn to love the game. After an impressive four-year career at Plattsburgh where he won a NCAA Division III National Championship, Paul started his coaching career at Ellington High School coaching the Tri-Town High School Hockey Team. In his thirteen years at the school, he grew the program from a Division III school to a yearly contender at the Division I level in Northern CT. He is a big believer that each one of our young players need to develop their skills in a certain order; skating, puck handling, passing and shooting.
David grew up playing hockey in Canada and made his way to Fairfield, CT to play Division I college hockey at Sacred Heart. He amassed over 70 points in his 4 years at Sacred Hear and then went on to play professional hockey in the ECHL and the CHL over the course of 5 years.
David and his family reside in Enfield, CT and he leads a successful career in real estate.
David has a passion for coaching and working with kids. You can see that passion come thru at each of his practices and games. We are extremely lucky to have him on our coaching staff and excited for the season his team will have.
Shane took over the reigns this year of the 2015 TIER Team and we are thankful that he did. He brings a massive passion for the game of hockey as he has grown up in the game both playing and being apart of his kids hockey.
He enjoys creating a fun environment for the kids to skate in that will challenge them and reward them. The team has had tremendous growth from the beginning of the season until now and that is large part due to the leadership Shane has provided.
We are lucky to have him on our staff and we wish his team the best this season.
